Volunteer Policy

Welcoming parents/guardians and guests back to our campuses for school community events has been positive.  Parents and guardians are our most valued partners in the education of Alvord Unified School District students.  Opening our doors again has been refreshing and normalizing after the last few years of restrictions.  We are also welcoming volunteers back to our campuses, including parents/guardians as well as our business partners who serve in our schools in a variety of ways.  If you have not volunteered in a while, please be advised of our volunteer policies which reflect our commitment to school safety.  Thank you in advance for following the policy as outlined below.

Visitors are divided into two tiers as follows:

Tier 1

Volunteer will be under the supervision of a school employee while on campus and is not expected to volunteer on a regular basis.

  • Provide a valid government-issued photo identification card
  • School site staff will verify that the volunteer applicant is not listed on the Megan’s Law website
  • Provide proof of a negative TB result, chest x-ray, or risk assessment.
    • Results must be current within 60 days of submitting a volunteer application
  • Receive final clearance before volunteering
